Está finalizando la construcción de una plataforma de hormigón, con su respectivo acceso, para ubicar una bomba extractora de gran porte que permita sacar el agua de lluvia de la laguna de retardo ubicada al Norte de la ciudad y volcarla en el canal derivador al río Ctalamochita.
Este sistema de drenaje que se complementa con canales y desagües, permite evacuar el agua de un importante sector de la ciudad tanto urbano como fabril.
La laguna de retardo construida por el municipio, cumplió una función importantísima en las inundaciones registradas a principios del año pasado, principalmente con la llegada de agua al casco urbano, proveniente de la zona rural.
De esta manera se continúa trabajando en la prevención de este tipo de fenómenos meteorológicos.
