El uso de cinturón de seguridad, las sillas adecuadas para los niños en los automóviles, el casco para conducir motocicletas, no utilizar el celular cuando se conduce ni beber alcohol y respetar las señales de tránsito, entre otras medidas, pueden evitar accidentes.
Aceptar las normas para transitar en las calles y avenidas son fundamentales tanto para conductores como peatones.
La razón de tener un día para recordar este acontecimiento es la excusa para promover la educación vial y, fundamentalmente, para fomentar la toma de conciencia acerca del flagelo de los siniestros viales. Es una jornada para llamar a la reflexión con el fin de prevenir los riesgos que afectan a la vida propia y la del otro.
