En la sede de la Dirección de Acción Social, Ecuador 38, se habilitó oficialmente en el Día Internacional de las Personas con Discapacidad, el Centro Ortopédico Municipal, que comenzará la prestación del servicio con 74 elementos entre camas ortopédicas, muletas, sillas de ruedas, bastones, andadores y cuellos ortopédicos, entre otros.
Hasta hoy, la ciudad no contaba con un Banco Ortopédico Público Municipal y en un exhaustivo relevamiento de la Dirección de Acción Social, se determinó que la mayor cantidad de personas que viven con una discapacidad se ubica en el cinturón de la pobreza de Bell Ville, quienes integran el sistema de salud pública, careciendo de cobertura privada, siendo los usuarios que demandan asistencia y provisión de ayudas técnicas.
Es así que llegó a buen puerto la gestión que en ese sentido hizo el municipio ante la Agencia Nacional de Discapacidad, con el objetivo de disponer de un banco ortopédico que contenga necesidades de población vulnerable sin cobertura de salud y facilitar la accesibilidad a familias con necesidades de salud, superando obstáculos para la rehabilitación.
Ante funcionarios municipales, concejales, tribunos de cuentas, representantes de entidades vinculadas con la discapacidad de las personas y vecinos, el secretario de Desarrollo Social, Horacio Pelletti, como único orador, destacó el trabajo que viene llevando adelante el municipio en favor de las personas con discapacidad, por una ciudad accesible, inclusiva y sostenible.
Posteriormente, el citado secretario, la directora de Acción Social, Ivana Alegnani, integrantes de esa dependencia y el director de Recursos Tributarios y Finanzas, Ricardo Bonini Colmano, procedieron al corte de cintas, quedando inaugurado así el Centro Ortopédico Municipal.
Pelletti destacó que la inversión con el aporte de la CONADIS (Consejo Nacional para la Integración de la Persona con Discapacidad) es cercana a los $ 900.000 y a los elementos ya disponibles se les agregarán otros en los próximos días, ya que están en pleno proceso de compra.
Para la obtención, el interesado que no cuente con obra social, deberá concurrir a la Dirección de Acción Social con el pedido del médico para dar curso a la solicitud.
