El secretario de Desarrollo Social, Horacio Pelletti y el encargado del Centro de Salud Animal, Rodrigo Nieva, destacaron la importancia de la vacunación antirrábica en perros y gatos que anualmente lleva adelante el municipio.
Al respecto, recordaron los días, horarios y lugares del operativo a iniciarse la semana próxima:
- Martes 22/02:
Plaza Abraham Haedo (08:00 a 12:00).
Plaza Rubén Márquez (13:00 a 17:00).
- Miércoles 23/02:
Plaza de los Niños-Eva Perón (08:00 a 12:00).
Plazoleta del Trabajador (13:00 a 17:00).
Por otro lado, Pelletti valorizó la creciente adhesión de propietarios de mascotas a la castración de animales. “Con el puesto fijo más el castrador móvil, el municipio tiene una presencia activa en todos los sectores de la ciudad. Agradezco la colaboración permanente del Área de Centros Vecinales y a las instituciones vecinalistas que se encargan de concientizar sobre la importancia de la castración animal”, destacó.
Añadió que en la actualidad se están cumpliendo entre 15 y 17 castraciones diarias.
En tanto, Miriam González, del Centro Vecinal San Gerónimo, dijo que se ha recibido una muy buena respuesta por parte de los habitantes del sector.
Afirmó que “es preocupante la cantidad de perros en las calles, como así también muchas crías abandonadas. Esto no es justo, el que tenga un animal debe hacerse responsable. La Municipalidad está brindando un servicio gratuito que debe ser aprovechado. Si hay animales y los queremos, hay que cuidarlos y los elementos están”.
