Se trató de un acto de trascendencia en la historia del decano de los clubes deportivos, contando con la presencia del Gobernador de la Provincia, Amadeo Sabattini y de todo su gabinete; más la del Intendente Arturo Matterson y del fundador de la entidad, Demetrio Gómez. El discurso de bienvenida, en el marco de un festejo inolvidable, estuvo a cargo de Alberto Bünzli, quien detalló con gran emoción los por entonces 33 años de vida de la institución.
