El 23 de noviembre de cada año fue establecido el Día de la Defensa Civil, en recuerdo de una de las mayores catástrofes ocurridas en el país: el terremoto de Caucete en la provincia de San Juan el 23 de noviembre de 1977.
Constituye un reconocimiento a quienes trabajan en silencio para aliviar el sufrimiento ajeno, así como un estímulo a la ciudadanía para la realización de acciones en defensa del bien común.
En este sistema de protección pasiva de la población, el objetivo es el de limitar los daños causados por desastres naturales, accidentales o provocados por el hombre.
Hoy en día el concepto de defensa civil va cambiando y adaptándose a los riesgos emergentes de la sociedad en que vivimos, de los cambios climáticos y de los factores socio-culturales que han modificado la naturaleza de las amenazas existentes.
Desde la Municipalidad saludamos a las instituciones y personas que componen Defensa Civil de Bell Ville, verdaderos “ángeles de la guarda” de la comunidad, como así también de las otras juntas instaladas en cada población del país.
