Dentro de los lineamientos de la planificación que lleva adelante la administración municipal, encabezada por el intendente Carlos Briner, se ha llevado adelante un nuevo ordenamiento para refuncionalizar y consolidar el encuentro entre tres corredores jerárquicos como los bulevares Illia, Alcorta y Maipú, que conectan los cuatro puntos cardinales de la ciudad a través de toda la zona urbana.
El sector tiene una gran importancia por la confluencia de personas que hacen uso de los comercios y servicios ubicados en las proximidades.
Sobre la zona Sureste de la ciudad, se ejecutó un ordenador vial para mejorar sustancialmente la circulación vehicular y peatonal, además de la realización de obras hídricas para sistematizar la canalización de aguas pluviales.
Se ha repavimentado con hormigón una superficie total de 1.380 m2 con el correspondiente mejorado de la base estructural.
En cuanto al ordenador vial, se ha realizado con las dimensiones conforme a normativas para que puedan circular en casos de emergencia todo tipo de vehículos de bomberos y en casos excepcionales permitidos, camiones de gran porte.
En cuanto a obras hídricas, se ejecutaron 8 sumideros y canales de grandes dimensiones para canalizar las aguas pluviales, ya que la bocacalle o esquina de bulevares Alcorta, Illia y Maipú, funcionaba como laguna de retención por ser el sector más bajo.
Para tomar dimensión, la superficie de captación que deriva en aguas pluviales hacia esta bocacalle es de 34 hectáreas, una de las mayores cuencas de la ciudad. Ante esto, estratégicamente se propuso ampliar la capacidad de los sumideros y desplazarlos por fuera de la bocacalle.
En cuanto a accesibilidad se ejecutaron “cruces seguros” mediante elementos de hormigón y rampas para que los peatones y personas con movilidad reducida puedan cruzar de manera segura.
En el sector se han incorporado nuevas columnas y artefactos lumínicos con tecnología led para mejorar las condiciones en horario nocturno, ya que carecía de un alumbrado público eficiente.
La obra demandó una inversión superior a los $ 21.000.000 con fondos propios de esta administración.
Como trabajo complementario, en 60 días, aproximadamente se habilitará la rectificación del desagüe que, proveniente de la obra hoy inaugurada, desembocará en el canal maestro de bulevares Ombú y Unión.
