En acto concretado en la mañana de hoy en el salón Walter de Navazio, fue cedido en custodia a la Asociación Cultural Sanmartiniana “Atilio Zarini”, un ejemplar del Manzano Histórico de Tunuyán, hasta tanto se lo ubique en su emplazamiento definitivo, posiblemente a la vera del Camino Real que tantas veces utilizara el Padre de la Patria en sus viajes.
El ejemplar fue obtenido por gestiones del Sr. Intendente Municipal, Dr. Carlos Briner, formulándose un especial agradecimiento por el donativo y la amistad de CAFH Delegación Distrito del Manzano Histórico, Dirección de Cultura-Museo Histórico de Tunuyán y del jefe municipal de esa población mendocina, Prof. Martín Aveiro.
“Renunciamiento a la gloria”, es lo que se lee en el Monumento Retorno a la Patria ubicado en Tunuyán a 42 km. de la ciudad homónima, 125 km. de la capital mendocina. Allí está el Manzano Histórico de Tunuyán, testigo fiel del encuentro entre el Libertador y del granadero Coronel Manuel Olazábal.
El Manzano Histórico trasunta al hombre (el Gral. San Martín) que logra vencerse a sí mismo, aquel que renunciando a todo poder, honores y riquezas decide autoexcluirse voluntariamente de la vida pública consiente de que su obra ha terminado.
Del acto participaron el Dr. Briner, secretarios, directores y demás funcionarios municipales, miembros de las jefaturas de Policías Federal y de la Provincia con asiento en Bell Ville, concejales, tribunos de cuentas, ex combatientes de Malvinas, miembros de la Asociación Cultural Sanmartiniana, vecinos y periodistas.
El Sr. Eduardo Larraza en nombre de la Asociación Sanmartiniana, visiblemente emocionado, agradeció que la institución a su cargo, fuera la depositaria temporal del Manzano y recordó que al ser declarado histórico ese ejemplar, en 1938, también ese año se levantaba el monumento al Libertador en el centro de la Plaza 25 de Mayo de nuestra ciudad.
Bell Ville será la única ciudad del país que tiene los retoños de los históricos Pino de San Lorenzo y ahora del Manzano Histórico de Tunuyán.
Además, junto a Mar del Plata, San Lorenzo y Regimiento de Granaderos a Caballos, forma parte de los únicos cuatro lugares del país donde echará raíces uno de los retoños del ejemplar cuyano.
Previo a la firma de aceptación de la custodia del Manzano, el Dr. Briner resaltó que este gesto mendocino, es fruto de la amistad formada en varios viajes realizados a la provincia cuyana y a Tunuyán en particular. Además, al enaltecer el gesto de renuncia del Gral. San Martín, pidió que su conducta sea imitada principalmente por los políticos para la credibilidad de los dirigentes por parte de los ciudadanos.
